Back before the Drunk Chef went on hiatus there were several scripts and story boards ready for production. Unfortunately many of them were lost in moves and the sands of time; but the script and idea for the first episode of season three has been kept close, waiting to be dusted off, freshened up, and given a new twist.
I have always had a love/hate relationship with food delivery and wanted to create a story that brought this to the audience.
It all started with a little Canon Powershot digital camera, a tripod, and copious amounts of alcohol.
Towards the end of season 1 and into season 2 I had upgraded to a canon ZR8500 miniDV camera and really started to experiment. That was when some of my favorite episodes were shot.
Now, in an all new kitchen, a professional scale Sony Digital miniDV camera, and updated editing software (that I am finally starting to understand) we are ready to start again.
I’ve always joked about the size of the crew on Drunk Chef. It has grown and shrunk, depending on what the current story required, but in actuality it has always been just Me, Myself, and I.
But now, almost 12 years after the inception of the idea, I actually have some help. Beyond just inspiration my 9 year old son has also started to learn how to film and edit and is willing to do whatever it takes to help out. He knows his way around the kitchen to boot and has some very interesting culinary ideas. Plus his little 6 year old brother needs to do everything that he does, so there is double the help.
In addition to helping on the technical side it means that I will be able to create all new characters for guest appearances,
